안녕하세요, 그림책 작가 김수영입니다.
SI그림책학교에서 공부한 뒤 지금까지 두 권의 그림책을 세상에 내놓았습니다. 2014년 첫 작품인 **<털>**로 볼로냐 아동도서전 라가치 어워드 오페라 프리마 부문을 수상했으며, 판소리를 바탕으로 한 두 번째 책 **<토끼전>**은 2023 BIB(브라티슬라바 비엔날레) 한국 출품작 및 '한국에서 가장 아름다운 책' 10권에 선정되었습니다.
매일 생각의 조각을 모으고, 그림의 조각을 생산합니다.
고요를 지향하지만, 그렇지 못한 내면의 이야기를 기록하는 작업에 집중하고 있습니다.
I am Sooyoung Kim, a picture book artist based in South Korea.
A graduate of SI Picture Book School, I have authored and illustrated two picture books to date. My debut work, Hair, was honored with the Ragazzi Award (Opera Prima) at the 2014 Bologna Children's Book Fair. My second book, The Tale of the Rabbit—inspired by traditional Korean Pansori—was selected as a 2023 BIB Korean entry and named one of the "10 Most Beautiful Books in Korea."
Every day, I collect fragments of thought and produce pieces of illustration. While I cherish silence, my current focus lies in documenting the restless stories within.
